About SilkTrain
What is SilkTrain?
A service that supplies AI companies with vetted native speakers of 19 languages, from Kazakh and Turkish to Serbian, Georgian and Korean. They check and improve what AI systems write and say in those languages.
Who runs SilkTrain?
Intact Works LLP, a company registered in Kazakhstan. It signs the contracts with clients and trainers and handles all payments.
What is “AI training”?
AI models learn from examples and from people’s feedback. Trainers read AI answers, compare them, correct them and write better ones, so the model learns what a good answer looks like.
Which languages do you cover?
Nineteen. Central Asia: Kazakh, Russian, Uzbek, Kyrgyz and Tajik. The Balkans: Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Slovenian, Macedonian, Bulgarian and Albanian. Türkiye and the Caucasus: Turkish, Azerbaijani, Georgian and Armenian. East Asia: Mongolian, Japanese and Korean. Kazakh and Russian open first; the others have waitlists.
Where are you based?
We work remotely. Our hubs are Astana, Almaty, Tashkent and Belgrade, and we recruit wherever our languages are spoken.
For trainers
Who can apply?
Native speakers of any of our 19 languages. We start with Kazakhstan; other languages open as clients need them, and you can join their waitlists now.
Do I need experience?
No. Experience in AI training, translation, editing or teaching helps, but the tests decide.
What are the tests like?
A test in your language (grammar, register and dialect) and a skill test, such as comparing AI answers or labelling text. Both are free and take under 45 minutes in total.
What is the work sample?
A 20-minute task in your browser with camera and screen recorded, then a 2-minute spoken explanation of two of your answers, in your language. You do it whenever suits you, and a native speaker reviews it within 2 business days.
How much can I earn?
From $8–10 an hour for Russian annotation up to $25–35 for domain experts, paid in your local currency. The full table is on the trainers page.
How and when am I paid?
You submit a weekly timesheet. Once it is approved we pay within 48 hours: bank transfer in KZT in Kazakhstan, Payoneer or a local card in Uzbekistan, Payoneer, Wise or SWIFT in EUR in Serbia, and Wise or Payoneer in your local currency elsewhere.
What contract will I have?
You work as an independent contractor: a civil-law contract or individual entrepreneur status in Kazakhstan, self-employed status in Uzbekistan, freelancer status in Serbia, and the local equivalent elsewhere. We guide you through it.
What equipment do I need?
A computer with a webcam and a stable internet connection. You can join the waitlist from a phone.
What if I fail a test?
You can retake each test once, after 30 days.
Can I appeal a decision?
Yes. You can appeal a failed step, a tier change or a removal within 14 days, and a different reviewer decides.
What are tiers?
Tier 1: you passed the automated tests. Tier 2: you passed the ID check, the proctored retest and the work sample, and clients can hire you. Tier 3: 200+ paid hours with a QA score of 92% or more; you can become a team lead.
For AI companies
How do I start?
Send the pilot form. We reply within one business day with a staffing plan and a time to talk.
How fast can you staff a team?
10 Tier 2 people within 10 business days, or 5 for Russian.
How do you check quality?
Every queue includes gold items with known answers, and each worker’s accuracy is tracked daily. If a managed team’s weekly agreement falls below 90%, those hours aren’t billed.
What does it cost?
Managed teams are billed per hour from our published rate card, from $3,000 a month per team. The self-serve marketplace costs 12% of talent payments. Details are on the pricing page.
How do you invoice?
In USD or EUR. Labs prepay monthly; vendors get weekly invoices payable within 7 days.
Do your people use our tools?
Yes: Label Studio, CVAT, Argilla or your own platform. We don’t provide annotation software.
Do you sign NDAs and a DPA?
Yes: an MSA and SOW, a mutual NDA, a per-project NDA for each worker, and a DPA.
What if someone leaves?
We line up replacements for 20% of each team in advance and replace a worker within 3 business days.
Data and privacy
Where is personal data stored?
In a data centre in Kazakhstan, as Kazakh law requires.
Do you see our data?
No. Workers operate inside your tools, so your data never enters SilkTrain systems.
What happens to test recordings?
Recordings from proctored tests and work samples are deleted 90 days after the decision, unless needed for a fraud case or an appeal.
How do I delete my data?
Email [email protected]. We act within 15 working days.
